Q-BBQ

Next time you find yourself in the Chicagoland area take a trip to La Grange and get you some Q-BBQ. Located at 70 S. La Grange Road they offer some of the best southern-style barbecue you can get in Illinois. Featured above is today’s lunch and my personal favorite, the Smoked Pulled Chicken plate which I’ll usually get with their Mac-Q-Roni and Q Fries. They’ve definitely taken a page out of the McDonald playbook by naming nearly everything they serve with the Q-Brand. Q-Plates, Q-Combos, Q-Ribs, Q-Sides, Q-Everything.
The chicken delicious. It’s seasoned in 13 spices and left to smoke for four hours before the sauces even touch it. Oh my god the sauces, from spicy, to sweet and all without corn syrup, starches or preservatives. My favorite is a delicious vinegar-based Memphis-style sauce with hints of brown sugar and 8 other “top-secret” spices that give it a mouth-watering sweet yet tangy flavor. The Mac-Q-Roni is a must-have, macaroni noodles in a creamy sauce with 6 different cheeses topped with sharp cheddar cheese and, if I’m not mistaken, crumbled Cheez-Its. Delicious!
Lookie cookie! This is a dish called “wagon wheels” made with fusilli pasta instead of wagon wheels. The sauce is tomatoes with heavy cream and Italian sausage. And a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese. Yum!
For I am but wee, I could only take on the 8oz sirloin, medium rare (of course!), with a loaded baked potato. Found at the Derango Steakhouse (http://www.durangosteakhouse.com/) in Cocoa Beach, Fl.
The fried potato carcasses discovered at the Derango Steakhouse (http://www.durangosteakhouse.com/) in Cocoa Beach, Fl.
Fried Doom Onion served at the Derango Steakhouse (http://www.durangosteakhouse.com/) in Cocoa Beach, Fl. Not actually called a Doom Onion but I forgot the real name.
Seafood risotto from the hotel restaurant at the Hilton in Cocoa Beach, Fl. Actually much tastier than it looks all splayed out in a styrofoam takeout container.
Fried jalepeno shrimp poppers from the Hilton’s restaurant here in Cocoa Beach, Fl. Well, the heart needs a workout sometimes, too.
This is the world famous Shuttle Burger from Shuttle’s Dugout down the street from Kennedy Space Center in Orlando, Florida. That’s a medium rare burger covered with sautéd onions and mushrooms, provalone, tomato, letuce, and raw onions.
A bacon, egg, and cheese thingy found at BWI airport. Going on my first business trip. Hope I find tasty things for my face in Florida.
Best damn deal in DC. You can get two halfsmokes with chili, cheese, and onions with a big ass drink for $4.50 at the hot dog cart right outside the Federal Center Southwest Metro station. Best lunch ever!
